I do not belong.
It's like being reborn in dirt.
I peer out from the cave
where I belong instead of on the stage.
I was not invited
I am not involved.

They celebrate her life
what is to come
I watch, my own time
is wasted only following.

I look down as passers-by
stare shamelessly in their approach.
No words, no intent
they do not know why I have come.
Only to watch.
Only to watch.

A white beauty alone in the dirt
surrounded by ugliness
that only I can see.

The sun is setting
casting a shadow
that only I can see.

A man is crying
at the sight
only I can hear.

And I am the only one.
The only one who does not belong.

Waking up alone
she escapes my mind.
I am left with the cries
no beauty, just fear.

Walking down the street
surrounded by dirt.
I am ugly
no beauty, just fear.

Watching the sun go down
alone in the darkness.
I cannot see
no beauty, just fear.
