What I think of when I think of love poems
Don't let me die
I want this to be fate
Don't make me cry
Please don't be too late.

    She spoke the four lines with pure sorrow as she stood in front of the class. Holding the lined paper up to her face so no one could see the streams of salt water running down her face.

I can't think of the world
without your sweet eyes
So I thank the lord
For your kind lies

    Shaking shoulders held her in place. She wondered if the one she so desired even listened to her black velvet words. Soft hair moved forward as a shield to her broken beauty as she leaned slightly forward to try to comfort herself.

Tell me you love me
and my ugly life
You can be angry
words are sharp like a knife

    Holding tight to her own words, she felt her feet stiffen in place as if held there by the demon who had ripped her apart. Her tears were visible to the enchanted crowd.

So I'll tell you now
that the black bird flew
as we all asked how
much I love you.
