a poem about coffee and cigarettes and an inherent resemblance to sex
Slow and hot
The lumbering arch of a giant sun
God’s own hand snapping through space
A flash of light and heat
From one vessel to another
The reproduction of a miracle
Is it not a miracle itself?

The slow black drain
As it settles into white porcelain
Hands and lips to read what the eyes can’t see

The heat settles in the mouth
on the tongue
in the throat
in the stomach

One breath and satisfaction
