Something true, and real, about how sometimes, it's hard to breathe.

My eyes could find him in the middle of a million man march

[Inhale]

“Hey, it’s been awhile”

Yeah, I guess it has.

“I miss seeing your smile”

I subliminally smile.

“You cut your hair?”

Yeah, a few weeks ago

- He reaches out to touch my face,
a familiar hand my skin has been longing for,
a touch my skin has needed.

I touch his hand on my face.

“You look good”

Thank you, you do too.

His hand falls.

- A stranger to me, walks up from behind him and
slides her fingers within his, he stares deep into my eyes,
this, only done when he tells me he loves me.

"It was nice seeing you."

I slide my hair behind my ears,

Yes, it was nice seeing you too.

I wait, until I can’t see him or her anymore,
And this time he didn’t look back.

[Exhale]
