If only it had ended the way it was 'supposed' to...
They say time heals all wounds -
I wonder if it's true.
It's been so very long
Since I have seen you.

I think about your laugh,
I dream about your smile.
You promised me forever -
Well, it's been a while.

You were so amazing,
You were the perfect you.
It was all too good,
Too good - I knew - to be true.

Days with you flew by,
I hoped they'd never end.
Boy, you threw a curve ball -
You know how to make me bend.

"I'm sorry", you said.
"I wish this could end."

But it won't, you see.
Look what you're doing to me!

I can't sleep - I can't eat -
I don't want to get off my feet.

You tell me it wasn't supposed to end like this -
You tell me it was supposed to end in bliss.

Yet here I sit, and there you go.
I hope you reap what you sow.
