Just a little heartbreak poem, unrequited love, not perfect but how I felt.
Time can tick by as much as it wants
But I can’t wrest you from my thoughts.
I can’t forget the strength in the way you move
Or how the timbre of your voice would soothe;
The way your words wrapped ‘round my soul
And the way your kiss could take control of me,
Or the way you could hold me.

I don’t know why you choose to turn
To someone who has shown so little concern
For you.  She will never love you like I would
And she can never make you feel as good
As my touch could.  You can’t begin
To know how my hands ache for your skin,
How my mouth hungers for your lips,
Or how I yearn for you within my hips.

The days that pass don’t assuage this ache
And I wonder how something so fleeting could make
Me feel such loss in the wake of its absence.
I cannot fathom why it ended before it could commence.
I can’t understand and it makes no sense;
I only know this desire, unbidden, smolders inside
And I bide my time while you choose to hide
From what I know you felt as well.
