When the Department of Human Services came and took my children
One tear drop fell to the floor,
as you were taken out the door.
it felt as if my heart was torn in two,
they took you away, nothing I could do.

I hid my face so you could not see me cry,
but I broke down when you said goodbye.
I raised you all from your day of birth,
only I know what your love to me is worth.

I pray the lord will bring you back.
the pain of missing you, like that of a heart attack.
it shoots through me with each beat of my heart,
each day has no meaning when we are apart.
