longing to get a kiss in the pouring rain
‘I’m not here’ I keep telling myself.
Yet, I know I am.
‘It must be a dream, a miracle!’
And yet here I am living my dream.

Promises are a big part of life.
I was promised dozens of times.
By men who thought they were good enough.
They failed to keep it in the long run.

You enter my life at the time I needed you most.
You took away my pain, my sadness I had in my heart.
I realized from then on I loved you.
And nothing now can change that.

You too promised me just like those other men.
I was doubtful yet I had faith.
After time I almost gave up.
You stepped in and said it’ll happen.

Sure enough it happened sooner than I expected.
The man who I thought never would keep his promise,
The man I realized I want to be and stay with,
The man that makes me happiest and changed me for the better.

Here I am standing in the pouring rain,
Our arms wrapped tightly around each other.
We both get soaked as the cool autumn rain falls down upon us as we kiss.
My fantasy finally came true by the man I least expected it to but love dearly.
