This is my first entry on writing.com, it's a simplistic poem I wrote just recently.
Although I’m only seventeen
I’ve seen a lot of different things
People walking hand in hand
Sad to the point they cannot stand
But what is love to me?

Love is something you cannot buy
Or have to earn before you die
It’s a gift that’s really hard to find
Of two beating hearts that have intertwined
But what is love to me?

You cannot see it with the naked eye
Believe me I have tried and tried
It’s something that lies beneath the skin
In thy soul, thy heart, thy mind within
But what is love to me?

Love never changes, with changing times
Although, you might thinks so sometimes
It’s a battle of emotions so quick to draw the sword
But once the last sword swing is thrown there comes a great reward
But what is love to me?

It’s the feeling of knowing somewhere out there
I’m in her thoughts, her tears, her prayers
And when I go home at night I know
She feels so safe with this average Joe
But what is love to me?

Love is so amazing, but when found don’t let it go
The ride is sometimes bumpy yes, but to overcome will show
That true love is upon you, so grasp it, hold it tight
For when you have it, you’ll look up, and thank god every night
But what is love to me?

Even when the lights are low
And life as you knew it has filled with woe
Love can always make you smile
Which is what makes it so worthwhile
But what is love to me?

Love is that feeling while looking in her eyes
The feeling you get when you must say Good-Bye
Even though I know I’ll see you the next day
I just wanted to write this poem to say
You’re what’s love to me
