In the summer before beginning my life, I found you.
Beyond the Picture

The sky shines on faces of lonesomeness.
It’s sun warms his nerves; cues her senses.
The glint of light in one’s eye catches the other
And the look is not shrugged off.
Rain falls, but their eyes near.
While hand in hand they slowly lock their gaze; their intent.
Hands intertwine and fingers play,
Laughter fills their presence, even during this impending storm.
The distance will be but a trivial thing,
Making their connection stronger and more real.
The sun will set, the night will begin, and they will part.
However, they have each other, whether known to them or not,
Despite the distance growing their paths.
And so, they part, no longer in a daze of loneliness,
leaving with a sense of wholesomeness,
Leaving their laughter to continue tomorrow,
Leaving her determination to grow more bold,
And he will leave his secret untold…
For just one more day
