nothing more than simplified ranting
and oh how you make promises
thinking that i know you well enough
to know they won't be kept.

i knew you well enough to know better,
you gave me the chance to run once before,
and look where that got me.

being second place to substances
that don't belong in your head
is the better slap in the face.
