Thoughts of a step child
                  Step Child

As I sit here and listen
To the mumbles through the wall,
I ask myself, “Do they hate me?”
And an echo inside dimensions reply,
“Why yes, yes they do and
Do you know why?”
But sadly I could already answer
“Because I’m the step child”.
And the voice replied
“That is correct and you know what else?”
And once again the answer was there,
“It will never change.”
Sadly, I don’t know how
To tackle this problem.
Talking won’t work
If the one hearing won’t listen.
Death won’t work
If it causes only more harm.
Friends won’t work
If I can’t ever see them.
Ironically, they are the
Reasons I got in this hole
But then again
Will that even every change?
