I Know Colours!

Life is a game of sights and sounds.
The colours are the sight , the songs are sounds.
The songs if heard give pleasure and pain
The songs unheard, are lost invain.

The colours are ones, which give us life,
A life of beauty and wonder and delight.
Colours are the ones
Which make us remember, our loved ones.

Red stands for love, a beauty not to die.
White stands for peace and green is for life.
Blue is for the day, and the black is for the night.
A night full of stars,
Twinkling, shining bright.

My life was also full of such colours.
But then, one day
They all were gone, forever and ever.
My roses were withered, my stars were shot.
I lost my loved ones
My mother, my sisters, my father and brothers.

It all happened on one dark night
By men, dressed in black and blue.

I saw their faces and they were white,
As mercy had taken away a flight.
They dragged my colours, in front of my eyes,
And left me to cry in that hour of fright.

Who were they???
I always thought,
Were they Black or Yellow, or were they White.
Whoever they were, they never thought,
They took the colours of my day and night.

Years have passed but still I feel,
A loss, a chasm, a void very deep.
I still see the world with these two eyes,
But the colours i see now, are not the colours
Which once, i liked.

I remember them still, the reds and blues,
And all those colours which once I drew,
Of the faces and hearts, in ballons and in stars.

But today...no more.

Today I stand on the seashore
And watch and hear the old folklores.
I still see the colours, but the symbols have changed.

Now,
Red is for blood, black for deceit,
Yellow is for hatred and not the sand by the sea.

I see the white, and remember the faces,
The deceased bore; tied with laces.
I remeber the blues, and still can see.
In eyes and on body, the shots of misery.

I also see the flags today, coloured white and blue
And i also see the men,  of a black and yellow hue.

I hear the world calling me dead,
Because neither can i see, nor touch or smell.
My senses are gone.
My heart and soul...lost.

But what I retain is the meaning of colours.
Colours were once a part of my life,
And now I bear an identity given by them,
As a man who knows the true colours, the best.
