This is a short fairy tale type poem, that tells a story.
I fell asleep in a meadow
and that's where I awoke.
With voices singing gently
and this is what they spoke.

"Come, come, little one
follow us to the wood.
We can show you many things
and make your life so good."

"Come, come, little one
into the forest trees.
We'll show you what we do all night
below the moon lit leaves."

I was enticed and so I went
and found them dancing there.
Strange people with strange smiles
and oddly fury hair.

"Welcome, welcome" they bid me
and made sure I too joined in.
The dancing was so wild but,
I found the beat within.

These people were so feral
the way they moved and sang.
As I began to understand
again there voices rang.

"Little girl, little girl
if you wish to stay
drink this little potion
at the break of day."

Here a vial was placed in my hand
and a choice placed in my head.
Do I return to what I know
or forsake my bed?

I continued dancing
the question burning in my mind.
I needed something to tip the scales
and that's just what I'd find.

I met a boy there that night
who was so sly and kind.
I fell for him and then I knew
I could not leave this world behind.

He led me to a field
where I received my first kiss,
and as dawn came I drank my potion
as it bubbled and it hissed.

It was then that a shot rang out
and a wolf fell down beside me.
The hunter was happy to help
as my love lied there writhing.

The potion took it's effect
as tears welled in my eyes,
I found myself a frightened doe
and ran away saying my good byes.
