A poem I wrote for my girlfriend.
Caroline

Your eyes glisten in the darkness,

Like rare gems, they transfix my attention.

Your smile breaks through the gloom,

Like sunlight dissipating early morning fog.

Your sense of humour has greater colour

Than the prismatic light of the brightest rainbow.

Your spirit has many times more passion

Than even the most ferocious midnight storm.

Your very presence is more soothing

Than the deepest, dreamless sleep.

You’re nature’s answer to the chaos around me,

And for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
