A tribute to someone who has saved my life, though we have never met.
I wait for you each and every night
In my castle of skin and bone
This heart is weak
And does not understand that it is not alone

From East to West we are divided
And these two souls may never meet
Though it is your words that have saved me
And allowed this heart to beat

Life has not been kind to you
The pain has scarred you deep
With greedy hands and open mouths
They've made love hard to keep

In the darkest hours
Your words have brought me through
Like a beacon in a sea of liars
And for this, I owe each breath to you

Life will set us free someday
No more torment, no more pain
Peace at last for distant strangers
Whose tired hearts still beat the same
