Written in anxious teenage years, about my experience of shyness.

I hate it when I cannot find
The words to say to those so kind.
I hate it when I sit there mute
When just a few short lines would suit.
I hate it when they try to help
And just confirm my wish to melt.
I hate it how everyone else can do
That thing which seems to me so new.
I hate it how they all can see
All my vulnerability.
I hate how they try to involve
Me, but no problems does it solve.
I hate it when I want to have fun
But my knowledge of speech becomes undone.
I hate how this is part of me
And how it will follow my days to be.
