Poem of my seosonal woes, I warn you that it's sad in case I spoil your Christmas cheer.
Maladies du Noel

This seasons charm for me this time is like the embers of our flame;
The flame of our love that could not beat the bitter cold;
It’s this cold carried by the wind that stings and bites whomsoever dares to brave it,
Though from here all out there looks radiant beautiful and white.

Jezebel was beautiful too…

Frustration and nostalgia won’t stop singing carols at my door:
Memories of you bring memories of Christmases long gone by;
Fuck you and Christmas both,
I need not adorn myself with hypocrisy and falseness.

Here there are no fire-works or rowdy Latin people having rowdy Latin parties,
There’s rum but there’s no cheer:
Music plays its beat but my heart can’t find the rhythm it once had,
The rhythm it had found with you.

And so I’m left alone with naught but the memory of the love we had; and hope,
That stillborn child you bore me whom we never got to know.

Other people dwell here with me I know,
Their laughter comes and goes and it’s a grim reminder that they live and so do I;
But I feel like a ghost to them:
I shun the light and their warmth because they feel, and I would rather not!
