Relevant to anyone who has met up with a scummy Ex.
The flame grows
churning and stabbing
inside my stomach.
I see his face
and hide it with a smile.

Sweat dribbles down my back
staining my shirt.
My teeth clench behind pleasant lips
as he offers a ride.
His car sparkles with a new paint job.
I politely decline.

My toes twitch and my legs tremble
My voice box strains
with unspoken I Hate Yous.
They tickle my uvula seductively.
I bite my tongue and blood fills my mouth
My farewell smile is tinged with red.
