i wrote this for one of my closest friends after her mother passed away suddenly
One chapter ends and another begins,
so goes the story of our lives.
In the eys of death we discover,
the true meaning of a life.

Up goes the shield as we try not to feel or cry.
All the while our hearts are screaming,
"Why now, why did you have to die?".

All alone we sit and cry.
As we grapple with the question,
WHY? WHY? WHY?

We cry for the things we said that we wish we didn't.
We cry for what we would of said,
if we'd only known.
Known it was your time, time to go home.

So it's time to take of our suits,
and put down our shields.
It's time to expose ourselves,
it's time to feel.
