Poem about a mask a prostitute creates to conceal her identity,
Fragile and pale she twists and turns

Nothing can touch her

Though fingers stained with cigarette burns

Rake your ebony hair off your bone white face

Nothing can touch her

Today might be the day you fall from grace

Slip into your masked disguise

Pretty pearl necklace

A string of lies

You bite your lip

And hold your tongue

The truths almost out, Don’t let the rest slip.

Her eyes are sullen, her lips apart

Razor blades down her legs

Nicotine stained heart

Chipped black nails

Blood red smile

At least this works when all else fails

Flaking makeup and a shaking hand

Your falling from grace

Who cares where you land?

Cracks in your foundation,

Your mask is gone

How long did you think this would carry on?

So this is it, She lets out a sigh

And sashays across the plank

Never say die

Hands behind her back she dives straight in

No ones there to save you

No one cares if you loose or win

Underneath the makeup you see the real you

Cover yourself up quickly

Transform the old into new

It’s impossible she says

Sinking straight to the ocean floor

You can’t hide it anymore

You’re just a simple common whore.
