My soul bird is caged in my thoughts..
Writer's Block


My soul bird is caged in my thoughts.
Those solid bars are closing down
On the meek bird, holding inside
The adjective, adverb and noun.

Unable to assemble words
Into a simple line or verse,
I pace around the study room
In effort to reverse the curse.

So I wait for a miracle,
Or any wonder of that kind;
And finally the bars dissolve
When an idea hits my mind.
