Voices the emotions of a man after loosing a great love in his life.
Why does it seem time and time again?
That I walk alone in the shadows of this life,
Cold and abandoned, my struggles never ending.
Searching soundly in my thoughts for you,
Looking for our sacred love, we once held true.

I find myself alone and in the darkness of dawn,
Searching through all creation,
Hoping for peace or revelation.
I need back the love we once had,
For I have nothing left in this life to guide me ahead

If I try to seek you back, I know I will fail,
And ever still this pain will consume my soul.
When I fail, my hard efforts will become only a sail,
Dragging me deeper into the flames of this raging hell.
I just wish for once my life were worth telling the tale.

Sometimes these struggles don’t seem worth it.
To let my heart hurt me over and over.
But no matter how I feel my thoughts of you never quit.
My nights are long and restless with despair.
My emotions haunt me like a never-ending nightmare.

When I’m alone and in the darkness of dawn.
I will always remember the love we had.
So that I may remain strong as I continue to fight.
For into this darkness I shall dive, searching for our lost love,
Time after time, night after night.

I must go into the darkness of dawn and find my way.
Even though your heart is so far away,
I know I must be with you.
So still, I must journey into the darkness of dawn,
Even though I am in the darkness without you.

Alas, when I’m alone and the darkness consumes me.
I will not be afraid, I will not be defeated.
I will look upon the shadowy mist and smile.
Looking back at the precious times we had,
As I walk through the darkness of dawn.
