Emo poem, dedicated to someone
A thousand broken wishes
fill the hollows on your face.
Hang onto every word I've ever spoken.
Wouldn't you like just one more taste?

All the lives I've ever made believe
lie piled forgotten on the floor.
Like a rose left to grow at midnight,
the moonlight catches on my broken soul--
and baby, I'm stunted.

So strum me another fantasy,
play me another memory.
Let me dance in all your perfect sins.
Let me drown in all your wasted glory.
The reaper's image echoes within the mirror--
Nothing can break the illusion of your lies.

Every lie I've ever whispered
coats across those sad gray eyes.
Innocence is just another promotion
but for now I'll believe you anyway.

Tender lips and guilty eyes
cannot disguise the truth I've found.
They pack their medicine into capsules,
candy coated pocket sized miracles--
and baby, I'm toasted.

So strum me another fantasy,
play me another memory.
Let me dance in all your perfect sins.
Let me drown in all your wasted glory.
The reaper's image echoes within the mirror--
Nothing can break the illusion of your lies.
