This is a poem about tardiness...
WOEFULLY TARDY

To work, I go very slow.
I don’t want to be there, I know!
To work, I go very slow.

I linger, squander, don’t go ~
snoozing or wasting time.
I don’t want to be there, I know!

Habitual lateness:  my crime,
I am always running late ~
snoozing or wasting time.

With nothing new to debate,
my conscience starts pleading, but
I am always running late!

Hoping every day it's a rut ~
stressed by the struggle, again I've stumbled.
My conscience starts pleading, but…

Tardy and well-dressed, though humbled ~
stressed by the struggle, again I've stumbled.
To work, I go very slow.
To work, I go very slow.
