We all have the power to choose how to deal with our life
You hurt me, cut me to the core
Left me bleeding on the floor
I cried and wished it wasn’t true
Yet still I CHOOSE to forgive you

You slowly worked your evil way
Scraped and tore my soul away
Left me batterd and bruised
Yet still I CHOOSE to forgive you

I know now why you hurt me so
A truth you wished I would never know
that you are just as scared as me
And that knowledge finally has set me free

I CHOOSE to forgive the atrocity
Of the abuse you gave unto me
Because I CHOOSE to be rid of the fear
Of the poison that has corrupted you dear!

I just want to say that situation in this poem is in the past. Only after long hrs and many yrs of thought and learning about certian aspects of the nature of people have I been able to forgive the person in question. I chose to be rid of the anger and hate because it is a poison that spreads to everyone around you. Deciding not to dwell on it and be happy despite what happened is how I got my power back.
