A poem about life choices, and mortality
How long?
choosing to be, requires an action.
choosing to live, requires even more still.

a twenty one year old girl made her choice , although it was her last,
to live , live , live it up.
that man on the corner of 3rd street made his as well, be it not without
consequences, to be, be, be still.

she lied to herself, he lied to his wife, they both made their choice.
what a shame about that young girl, what a shame about that poor man
they say.

what a waste of life, what a shame.

How long, will they refuse to see?
choosing to be, choosing to live.
to be still, and not act.
to live unaware of those around us.
crying out in agony.
asking to be noticed.
told.
make a different choice.
