Rage is in the way when I attempt to conquer Alzheimer’s cruelness Love u Grandma
A Mi Abuelita
By: G E L

How do I rid myself of this rage you so generously bestow upon me?
You, who I am to honor, call me cruel
I, who you are to admonish succumb to bitterness
If only your damning words would stop clawing my heart
If only my tongue would be bridled and refuse to retaliate
You who sanded away my gentleness now seek affections
But I am hardened and cooled by your vinegar disposition
Sweet embraces where has thou flittered to?
Have you no more stories to tell me?
If your ears stumble upon these words
I know you will not comprehend
And nor do I understand your confusion
How hopeless we are
I will sleep with you tonight regardless
I will pray for strength to love you more
