one sleepless night
If only this night would never end.
I could forever drift through this mystical hour
when the greedy town sleeps and I am free.

I can sing my melody to the sympathetic stars,
Who calmly observe the whole world's failures
and pretend that they truly care.

I can drown in the black waters and devour the moist earth
Which swallows my failing friends and neighbors
who pretend we walked the same path.

I can dance with the peaceful phantoms below the surface,
Who have tragically failed before me,
and pretend I am not alone.

But soon the sunrise will kiss my eyes,
And I'll be forced to face realities again.
Oh, if only this night would never end.
