Remembering them
            REMEMBER

Again today I have a hard time.
I lost some very good friends of mine.
That war in Vietnam the one that we lost.
It was our best who did pay the cost.

We fought for America our red white and blue.
Our very best died while fighting for you.
We ran through the jungle tearing limbs off the tree.
We all took the chance for you to be free.

Because of that war America was split.
Our returning soldiers on them did you spit.
It wasn't our fault yet we took the blame.
Banished and shunned so full of such pain.

I remember I remember still.
I also imagine that I always will.
I remember their face I remember their name.
Because I remember they say I'm insane.

Is it insane to remember our best.
To remember those men who are now laid to rest.
To remember their deeds and all that was done.
By our very best while under the gun.

I say it's insane that you should forget.
The names of those men to whom you owe a debt.
What do you owe them at least your respect.
Remember those men we must never forget.
