Poem about my Grandson Joshua 20 months old
"Joshua"
by Richard Briley

I hear pitter patter of little feet,

As he runs for something to eat,

I lift him high and hold him close to me,

Squeezing him tight and kiss him, you see,

He’s my little man for me to keep,

His name is Joshua. A man to be,

He eats and plays,

When he is done,

Its time for some good ole fun,

“Now go play,”

Instead he looks for a good book to read,

"Not another book Oh pleaseeee,"

“Joshee, we’ve read this book three times today,”

His mind is hungry I guess it’s OK,

He sits on my lap as we read again,

We pick up the book as we have before,

Start from the beginning; now this makes four,

I know one day he’ll be his own man,

With his own wife and kids, You know, the whole band,

One million kisses and hugs before then,

Until that day, we’ll read from beginning to end.
