The march of madness through tunnel vision
I pace
fervidly, eyes fixated on an unknown destination,
ensnared in narrow tunnel vision.
as if possessed by some vehement black force,

I march
rapidly, obstinately.
my body is painfully lethargic, burnt out,
but my amiss and mulish mind is painfully tenacious,
unwilling to yield to my body's indolent cries.

I feel
completely submissive to this ominous force.
no amount of will power or dilution can extract,
pry me from the coma i am encompassed in.
my very limbs are being operated, dictated, by an obscure, outside force,
one so elusive and intangible it's impossible to grasp,
let alone defeat.
one that possesses such vigorous strength and can slay all my mustered efforts with a mere impulse.

I am
submitted to its every whim and notion.
i am obliged to abide to something other, something superior, to myself.
my body is simply a host
to this perilous, enmeshing force.
this is the epitome of powerlessness.
