I wrote this after my closest friend found she will die of cancer before she reaches 20.
The good are the ones that bring joy to others.
The good are the ones that leave no one alone.
The good are the ones that show no fear.
But the good are the ones that die young.

The good are the ones that cause a smile.
The good are the ones that have no curses.
The good are the ones that can't put down.
But the good are the ones that die young.

The good are the ones that strive for justice.
The good are the ones with unconditional love.
The good are the ones that help you walk.
But the good are the ones that die young.

They go away so soon
They leave forever so soon.
It's before their time, before their clock rings.
And it's the good for whom the bell tolls.

They burn unlike a candle,
Burning dimly for eternity.
They burn like fireworks,
Flashing and fading away.

They accept the end without a tear.
They let him come like an old friend,
For they have nothing to fear.
They let him come. while I want to fight.

But the good are the ones that die young.
