Remembering coming home
No gratitude is needed
I really don’t want it
Hold your applause
It will only fall on deaf ears
Is this for me?
Or to make you feel better?
I know what I did
You likely wouldn’t understand
You think you can grasp
The reality
The severity
But you never can
I did it for me
It’s what I felt was right
Where did you go?
I thought you couldn’t thank me enough?
That’s okay
I’m back where I belong
Responsible to myself
The only one I can count on
