This is about a former relationship of mine.
I lay awake by your side.
Searching
hoping praying that I will one day remember who I was
Before I became who you wanted me to be.
I was so much more than this
more than your whore.
You've made me your most devoted fan
your slave if you will.
I've always dreamed of my Romeo
and you made me believe that you were it.
the one
the one who would sweep me off my feet.
And all you've done is knock me to the ground.
I hate you.
I hate you with every atom in me.
you come through the door.
I run for cover.
you scream my name.
and like the coward that I am I come to you.
You take my face in your hands.
I search your eye's looking for a sign anything
anything other than that cold sick
that your very soul seems to exude
I don't kiss you with the passion that you seek
my face stings were you strike.
I want so bad
to leave to be away from this nightmare from this
broken union
but I don't know who I am without you.
Please
just let me go
