my life, with no apolgies
Ode to a Fat Man

Clothes that don’t fit
So many seats in which you cannot sit

Friends that want to go for a ride
But you cannot fit inside

The stares at the restaurant
Seemingly judgmental and quick to taunt.

The shouts and jeers when you do exercise
The evil talk, everybody thinks they are wise

Do they have no shame?
I am peaceful, gentile and tame.

I am human, I have feelings too.
They must have forgotten a body is not ‘a what’ but ‘a who’.

Why do they not understand?
All I want is be able to feel grand?

Children hear you jeers and see your stares,
Do you want to encourage them to not care?

Unwanted comments, stares and shouts,
Do nothing but make me what to doubt.

Yes I am fat
That is a fact.
You can not control my body or my fat.

My own path I can take
Please be tolerant for goodness sake.

What a shame to boost your own self esteem at the expense of another,
A small person would know that GOD wants us to LOVE each other.

The obesity war you cannot win,
So, tolerance is the only way to begin.

You must not see, threw those callous eyes of yours,
We can loose our fat, but your low self esteem is forever a your chore.

Fat people of the world unite
Lets all take up the fight

Spandex clad be ware
We dwell where you cannot dare
