Sometimes being politically correct isn't for the best.
Do blind people see color?  Do they judge
a race by skin?

Sight isn’t such a blessing, when we close
our ears and voice.

Listen to the world around you; admit
the injustice.

Speak against what’s wrong; set the example
of what is right.

Bigots aren’t denying their prejudice,
but yelling it.

Face them with the truth; America has changed.
Equal rights live.

Our past is tarnished, but our future shines.
Let it be known.

Don’t hold your tongue fearing controversy;
rock the boat now.

Blend our nation with all cultures; embrace
true acceptance.

Risk saying the wrong thing, to say something.
Stand mute no more.

Communicate beyond the niceties.
Take strides forward.

Sometimes you have to step on a few toes
to save the foot.
