A poem from my teenage years.
When you're sad
You'll have my hand
To hold through the night
I'll understand

When you cry
I'll dry your tears
And remind you that
You've nothing to fear

When you're alone
I'll make you see
What an extraordinary friend
You have been to me

If you get tired
Of not being heard
I'll be your voice-
I will give you words

If you're ever weak
I'll make you strong
I'll be your strength
To carry on

When you hate the world
And push comes to shove
I will be the one
Who shows you love.
