A poem I wrote about how nice guys do indeed always lose -_-
I sit and watch as all I’ve tried
Sways, shakes, and crumbles before me
What legacy shall I leave behind
Through what broken world shall I see

Why must the world be this way
Where people such as I are held in contempt
Through the excuses and lies you say
These injustices so tediously placed I try to forget

You would rather be with those in power
Those who flaunt their popularity and vanity
Than a person like me who works by the hour
And doesn’t have everything handed to me

The nice guys always lose
To those whom we despise
As if our kindness and heartache were all a ruse
Precariously unbalancing our lives

It’s obvious my feelings for you were sublime
It’s obvious my thoughts of you were destined to wear
Oh but how you shall regret him over time
Oh but how when I am no longer here, it will be your burden to bear
