A poem reflecting on religion
Invisible Friend
You pray to a god who cannot be there,
No way to exist means no way to care.
I pray to my Goddess – my own volition,
She is all that can help on my life’s mission

The story and fiction,
No way  can be true
The only ones with power
Are me, and you

This fictional hero, so many create
If ‘he’ is so loving, then why so much hate?
Fascistic dictator, do this – do it now!
You really believe this but how? How? How?

A person born gay,
Can’t follow ‘his’ way.
Fiction tells you it’s wrong, your conviction so strong
You can’t even look, because you read in a book

That you can only be free,
by following the absurd, mad rules strictly,
Made up by someone you’ll never feel, touch, see
Now tell me; what is the wonder of ‘he’?

This spirit, this spectre,
This miracle mend
Is just nothing more
Than your imaginary friend

Use your sense,
You’ll be able to see,
The only destiny makers
Are you, and me.
