Story Of a shooting in my neighborhood.
ACROSS THE STREET

Five shots, then silence.
More senseless violence.
In a quiet neighborhood.
Place it never should.

One full faced
Four well placed.
Lying there bleeding.
Media there feeding.

Colored lights blinking.
Each of us thinking.
Of family and friend.
And how hard to mend,

The broken bodies and lives.
Dissembled before our eyes.
Coulda' been you. Couldn't been worse.
Drugs,such an ugly social curse.
