The pain of childhood sexual abuse still felt in adulthood
Can You See It?

Can you see it in her eyes?

Can you hear it in her voice as she cries?

Can you see how much you’re hurting her inside?

As she dies!

I feel it each day, as I wake.

There’s not a day when I am not reminded of you –

And all the pain that you put inside me.

You don’t deserve your precious pride.

Because you took that away from me!

Could you see it in my eyes?

Could you hear it in my voice as I cried?

Could you see how much you were killing me inside?

The day I died.

You fooled me;

You took advantage.

You didn’t move me;

Like you had planned it.

Instead I sat there,

My feet planted.

Unable to breathe,

As you killed me.

Can you see it in my eyes?

Can you hear it in my voice as I cry?

Can you see how much you are killing me inside?

Ever since the day I died.

You are worse than any disease.

What you did to me was worse – than anything.

You violated me,

You stripped me of my pride –

And still you stared me in the eyes.

As you killed me.

I hope you see it through my eyes!

I hope you scream the same scream, I gave that night!

I hope you feel the same pain, I feel inside!

When you die!

I hope you see it through my eyes!

I hope you scream the same scream, I gave that night!

I hope you feel the same pain, I feel inside!

When you die!
