AARP: Awesome American Revolution Poem
" The British are coming, the British are coming!"
Says Paul Revere as he took his night ride.
" The British are coming, the British are coming!"
All you could hear were the beating hooves as he cried.

The town awoke, for they soon would see,
that victory would be theirs, it was fated to be.
To fulfill this destiny they would have to fight.
And then America could be called the "Land of the Free"

It started with the Battle of Lexington and Concord
where many men fell on their sword.
this was a sad day
because much blood poured.

After that there wasn't much kill
but then came the Battle of Bunker hill.
The British won though many were dead
and numerous more were struck ill.

After a multitude more of dreaded war
and the country's backbone became so sore
the Declaration of Independence was written
so that the British couldn't interfere, forevermore.

After this revolution America was poor,
How they were going to survive? They weren't sure.
The treaty had done them better,
but it had left them with scars on the core.

So you see that America has attained land so vast
And I'll leave you off on this note for the rest is surely passed.
New things are to come, for history is always happening
and this is not my last.
