A poem about unrequited love in which love is represented by soup
Bowl of Soup
A bowl of soup can always soothe the soul
It heals the scars, relieves the pain for good
Everyone longs for a sip from the bowl
To liven up their day or lift their mood

I yearn for this soup almost everyday
And gather the ingredients for me
But he must have it, much to my dismay
My bowl doesn’t want me, neither does she

Delicious warmth, I cannot have at all
Teases me with a deep, savory scent
Leaving me behind his treacherous wall
Behind, wanting, to a greater extent

I may never obtain my bowl of soup
But I’ll always try in this painful loop
