A Vet's take on often heard stories, we've all heard these guys.
WANNABE NEVERWAS


Saigon, Mekong.
U.S., Viet Cong.
Black ops.
Chopper drops.

His dancing eyes.
Are telling lies.
This one's play.
Back in the day.

Drinkin' beer.
I get to hear.
Dates are wrong.
No sorrow worn.

He didn't fight and he didn't march.
Not in college or a jungle arch.
So now that history's primed.
To all he wants to remind.

That he's above all equal.
I just gotta hear the sequel.
His war story's all abuzz.
'nother wannabe neverwas.
