feeling hopelessness
The dark is heavy and my spirits are low,
In this wide circle there's not much I can do.
Time goes by in trickles and waves;
By a thread, hangs my shriveled hope.
Slowly, the dark invades my soul,
and I lose the pathway under my wavering feet.
As I look back to the 'once upon a time',
I think that surely this must be a bad dream.
All I can see before me is a black tunnel,
all I can sense behind me is distant memories.
No matter which way I turn to for relief,
there is only a swarm of black worries.
There is not much for me to do,
except keep on walking down this abyss.
One step at a time, one step at a time,
towards what I hope is the morning light.
