Searching for a deeper sense of self.

By The Wind

I wander as if lost,
amidst a darkness against which I cannot defend,
trying to find myself at any cost,
before I'm taken by the wind.

Praying for light as if it were air,
reaching for any rope's frayed end,
hoping against hope it will be there,
holding tight, not to be taken by the wind.

Unable to stand, I'm on my knees,
seeking a God who gives, and takes away,
trying with an open mind to comprehend,
before I'm taken by the wind.

Searching for any paths to bring me back,
grateful for any angels He might lend,
knowing there are answers I still lack,
but not wanting to be taken by the wind.
