A reflection upon all the things that our world is.
What do we lose when we move from
The world of children to
The harsh world of adults?
We lose our innocence,
We lose our joy & happiness,
We lose the simple scope through which
We see the world.
More often than not, we lose our family.
We lose the simple and unconditional love,
We lose the bonds between members.
Sometimes, we lose complete knowlegde of
Who they really are.
We lose the easy conversation,
We lose the silent moments of peace.

Instead, we gain chaos,
We earn disapproval,
We are called into the world of "maturity"
and "purpose".
We gain false friends and lose hopes and dreams.
We earn darkness in return for
The light of our past innocence.

We now need to see the world in the view of
politics and laws and disasters.
But, when we look back to see what we have truely lost,
It is ourselves.
We lose our dreams and hopes.
We lose our past joy.
We are caught in a world where the only
Direction to go is forward.
And when we finally stop, we smell the ashes.
