Poem written in the shoes of a mistress, regrettably involved but fulfilled in love
Tears rolled down my cheeks
In fear of both being too protective of what’s not mine
And what seem to be
Overwhelmed with emotions beyond my control
Urging warmth
Seeking love
From mended pairs
A painful start
Equipped, but unbalanced
Standing on three

The laws reveal
A magic pair
From the time
Of Adam and Eve
Applied to every
Chair, stool
Animal likewise
That the uneven three
Is a tail stuck to the head
More so… than a brilliant third leg

A pain in my head
My arm
My heart
Tells of who I am
In love with one
In love with another
Makes it uneven
Unbalanced
And physically impaired
Clanged to an upright
I am the third leg
