a random poem about life...

Skies part
Cloudy and laced with sun
Weak brightness
Against the storms of tomorrow
I’m trying to write my name
In the sand at the edge
Of the sea
But each time
The greedy tide rushes in
And wipes it away

My feet are caked
With sand
And my hair is warm
Baked by the sun
The wind tries to take my towel
But I’m holding on
Maybe if I sing to the rocks
I can forget everything
And stay with them
Spending my years
Being battered and worn smooth
By the waves

Maybe that’s what happens anyways

Footsteps back
Leave a fading path along the shore
And my heart remains
In the sand
